Using light therapy to help alleviate the discomfort of puncture wounds

A puncture wound is caused by an object piercing the skin and creating a small hole. Some punctures are just on the surface. Others can be very deep, depending on the source and cause. In all cases, it is important to thoroughly and carefully clean the wound. If bleeding persists, medical attention should be sought.

Accelerating the healing process of puncture wounds and helping to minimise scarring can be achieved with the use of red and infrared light therapy.

How will light therapy help treat puncture wounds?

Photizo Skincare will help to trigger natural cellular photo-biochemical reactions in the skin and will assist in:

  • Cleaning up dead cells
  • Increasing microcirculation and formation of new capillaries
  • Boosting collagen production
  • Reducing inflammation and swelling
  • Reducing pain
